Use of Electronic Devices/Entrance into the Courthouse.

Tablets and cellular phones may be utilized in the hallways, lobbies, and other areas of the courthouse. No device may be operated in camera, record, or video mode. Unless otherwise ordered by the presiding judge, jurors will not be allowed to use a laptop computer, smart phone, tablet or other electronic device within the courtroom. Additional restrictions are outlined in the Court’s General Order No. 13-54-1.


NOTICE: Firearms, Dangerous Weapons and Controlled Substances (i.e. marijuana) are PROHIBITED in the Federal Courthouses of the Eastern District of Washington.

Please be advised that should you be required to report to the courthouse for jury service, pursuant to 18 U.S.C. §930, 21 U.S.C. §844, and 41 C.F.R.§§102-74.400 & 102-74.440, it is ILLEGAL to knowingly possess a firearm, other dangerous weapon, or a controlled substance such as narcotic drugs, hallucinogens, marijuana, barbiturates, or amphetamines in a Federal building. Packages, briefcases, and other containers in the possession of all persons on Federal property are subject to inspection under 41 C.F.R. §102-74.440.

If you received a Juror Qualification Letter or Form from the U.S. District Court, you are being considered for jury service. You have NOT been summoned for federal jury service at this time.

The purpose of the Questionnaire is to determine if you are qualified to serve as a federal juror for the Eastern District of Washington. If you are found qualified to serve, you may be randomly summoned for a two-week on-call jury term.

You have been randomly selected as a prospective juror for the United States District Court, Eastern District of Washington for a two-week on-call term of service.

Completing the Federal Juror Questionnaire:

Unless you are requesting postponement, complete the enclosed Federal Juror Questionnaire in black or blue ink and return to this Court within ten days.

Please click here to request a postponement online using eJuror or you may mark one of the dates available on the form included with your summons packet and return it by mail within 10 days of receipt.

Important Reporting Instructions:

REPORT ONLY IF INSTRUCTED BY THE JURY INFORMATION LINE: You will be required to call in on the Friday afternoon prior to the start of your term of service. The toll-free number for the Jury Information Line is 1-866-249-5392. Select Option 1 for On-Call Jurors and enter your participant number.
