Parking: Metered downtown street parking varies from 2-hour to 10-hour parking. Two-hour metered parking can usually be found within a few blocks of the courthouse. Longer duration metered parking is farther away. There are many pay parking lots downtown. A public parking garage is near the courthouse on Spokane Falls Blvd and Post St.
Directions: Driving in on I-90: Take Exit 280-A (if you're westbound) or Exit 280 (if you're eastbound) and head north on Lincoln St. Turn left on Riverside Avenue and the Federal Building (9 story brown brick) will be on your right. Many of the downtown streets are one-way so navigating can be tricky.
Driving in on Newport Hwy (Hwy 2) or Hwy 395: These merge at "the Y" and become Division Street. Take Division towards downtown. Get in the center lane on the Senator Sam Guess bridge crossing the Spokane River. You'll curve right and then turn left onto Brown St. Turn right onto Riverside and the Federal Building will be 8 blocks straight ahead. Many of the downtown streets are one-way so navigating can be tricky.
Public Transportation: The Spokane Transit Authority Bus Plaza is a short two-block walk southeast at Sprague and Post. The Amtrak and Greyhound station is east of the courthouse at 221 W 1st Avenue, about a 9 block walk. The Spokane Airport is a 15-20 minute ride west of downtown Spokane. Taxis are available throughout.

Parking: Public parking is available directly across 3rd Street from the Federal Building - Parking in this lot is limited to 2 hours. An All-Day FREE parking lot is located one block away, across the street from the police station at Third Street and Walnut.
Directions: Take the Yakima Avenue exit off of I-82. Stay on Yakima Avenue and turn left on 3rd St. The Federal Building is on your left right after the theatre. Parking is directly across from the building on your right.

Parking: Public parking located north of the Federal building along Jadwin Avenue.
Directions: From I-182 or Highway 82, take the George Washington Way exit into Richland. Proceed north approximately one mile to Swift Blvd. Turn left onto Swift Blvd and travel one block to Jadwin Avenue. The parking lot will be on the left. There is no charge to park in this lot.

Entrance and Screening into the Courthouse A person seeking entrance to a Federal court facility must present valid, government issued ID, such as a driver’s license or state ID. Upon entering the building, you will pass through a screening station staffed by Court Security Officers (CSO’s). The CSO’s will check the contents of all bags, packages, briefcases and other containers by passing them through an X-ray machine. You will be required to walk through a metal detector. Individuals with pacemakers or cochlear implants may request screening via a handheld wand.
Firearms, Dangerous Weapons and Controlled Substances (i.e. marijuana) are PROHIBITED in Federal Courthouses. Pursuant to 18 U.S.C. §930, 21 U.S.C. §844, and 41 C.F.R.§§102-74.400 & 102-74.440, it is ILLEGAL to knowingly possess a firearm, other dangerous weapon, or controlled substances such as narcotics, hallucinogens, marijuana, barbiturates, or amphetamines in a Federal building. Packages, briefcases, and other containers in the possession of all persons on Federal property are subject to inspection under 41 C.F.R. §102-74.440.
Use of Electronic Devices Tablets and mobile phones may be used in the hallways, lobbies, and other areas of the courthouse. No device may be operated in camera, record, or video mode. Unless otherwise ordered by the presiding judge, jurors will not be allowed to use a laptop computer, smart phone, tablet or other electronic device in the courtroom. Additional restrictions are outlined in the Court’s General Order No. 18-54-1.
Services for the Hearing Impaired and Other Persons with Communications Disabilities The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington will provide reasonable accommodations in the form of sign language interpreters or other appropriate auxiliary aids and services to participants in court proceedings who are deaf, hearing impaired, or have other communication disabilities. Participants in court proceedings include parties in the case, attorneys, witnesses, and jurors who are deemed qualified to serve by the Court.
All courtrooms are equipped with infrared headsets capable of providing participants with amplification of the proceedings. Participants anticipating the need for accommodations should contact the court prior to your arrival.
Accommodations for Nursing Mothers
There are Privacy Pods for Nursing Mothers in the Richland and Spokane Courthouse lobbies. Visitors desiring use should contact the GSA Property Management Office in those two locations for the access code. Additionally, upon request, the United States District Court will provide participants in court proceedings a private space for nursing mothers in each of its three courthouse locations (Richland, Spokane and Yakima).
ADA Accommodations The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington will provide reasonable accommodations to all persons with disabilities.
