Login Problems¶
Can't Log In - "Invalid email or password"¶
Symptoms: - Error message after entering credentials - Can't access account
Solutions:
- Check email address
- Must be exact email from registration
- Check for typos or extra spaces

Case doesn't matter for email

Check password
- Passwords ARE case-sensitive
- Check Caps Lock key

Try showing password to verify

Reset password
- Click "Forgot your password?"
- Follow reset process

Verify registration
- Check registration confirmation email
- Ensure you completed registration
- May need to register if first time
Account Locked¶
Symptoms: - "Account locked" message - Can't log in after several attempts
Cause: Too many failed login attempts (5 within 30 minutes)
Solutions:
- Wait 30 minutes
- Account unlocks automatically

Reset password
- Use password reset to regain access immediately

Sets new password and unlocks account

MFA Code Issues¶
MFA Code Not Working¶
Symptoms: - "Invalid code" error - Code rejected
Solutions:
- Check code carefully
- All 6 digits correct?
- No spaces or dashes

Numbers only (no letters)

Check expiration
- Code expires in 5 minutes
- Request new code if expired

Click "Resend Code"

MFA Email Not Received¶
Symptoms: - No verification code email - Can't complete login
Solutions:
- Check spam folder
- Look in Junk/Spam
- Check Promotions tab (Gmail)

- Email can take a few minutes

Don't request multiple codes immediately

Passkey Problems¶
Passkey Not Working¶
Symptoms: - "Passkey not found" error - Can't authenticate
Solutions:
- Check device
- Are you on the SAME device where passkey was registered?
- Passkeys are device-specific

Check biometric
- Is fingerprint/face recognition enabled?
- Try re-registering biometric in device settings

- If you have multiple passkeys

- Use backup authentication method
Can't Register Passkey¶
Symptoms: - Registration fails - "Browser not supported" error
Solutions:
- Update browser
- Chrome/Edge 90+
- Firefox 90+

Enable biometric
- Turn on fingerprint/face recognition in device settings
- Windows Hello configuration

Touch ID/Face ID settings

Try security key
- If no biometric hardware
- Use YubiKey or similar

Upload Errors¶
"File too large"¶
Symptoms: - Upload rejected - "File exceeds maximum size" error
Cause: File larger than 75MB limit
Solutions:
- Compress PDF
- Adobe Acrobat: "Reduce File Size"
- Preview (Mac): Export → Reduce File Size

"File failed security validation"¶
Symptoms: - Upload blocked - Security error message
Cause: Virus scanner detected malware or suspicious content
Solutions:
- Scan your computer
- Run antivirus software

Re-scan the PDF
- Use antivirus on the PDF file

Verify file is clean

Regenerate PDF
- Create PDF again from source

"Invalid case number format"¶
Symptoms: - Upload rejected - Case number validation error
Solutions:
- Check format
- Must be:
[office]-[year]-[type]-[number]-[judge] -
Example:

Verify in CM/ECF
- Look up case in CM/ECF
- Copy exact case number

Use hypens, not slashes

Check components
- Office: 1, 2, or 4
- Year: 2 digits
- Type: cv, cr, mc, po, mj (lowercase)
- Number: 1-5 digits
- Judge: 3 uppercase letters
Upload Interrupted¶
Symptoms: - Upload stops mid-process - "Connection lost" error
Solutions:
- Check internet connection
- Ensure stable connection

Try different network if available

Restart upload
- Log in again
- Re-enter case information

Upload file again

Try smaller file
- If file is large

Compress if possible

Different browser

Session Timeout Issues¶
Logged Out Unexpectedly¶
Symptoms: - Suddenly logged out - "Session expired" message
Cause: 10 minutes of inactivity (FISMA requirement)
Solutions:
- Log in again
- Normal security behavior

Stay active
- Move mouse occasionally

Extend session
- When warning appears

Complete work promptly
- Prepare documents before logging in
- Don't delay during upload
Warning Modal Doesn't Appear¶
Symptoms: - No 2-minute warning before timeout - Unexpected logout
Solutions:
- Enable popups

- Registration: 1-2 minutes
- MFA code: 1-2 minutes

- Update browser
- Install latest version

JavaScript Disabled¶
Symptoms: - Page doesn't load properly - Buttons don't work - Forms don't validate
Solution:
- Enable JavaScript
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Site Settings → JavaScript
- Firefox: about:config → javascript.enabled

- Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+Delete
