2026 Ninth Circuit Civics Essay and Video Contest

The Eastern District of Washington is excited to invite high school students to participate in the 2026 Ninth Circuit Civics Essay and Video Contest—a unique opportunity to share your voice, showcase your creativity, and compete for cash prizes!

Students will first compete in a local Eastern Washington contest, where top essay and video entries will be selected to advance to the Ninth Circuit competition.

Local winners in each category will receive:

  • 1st Place – $1,000
  • 2nd Place – $500
  • 3rd Place – $250

 

This year's theme: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness – Your Voice. Your Story. Your America.” Students are encouraged to explore this powerful theme through thoughtful essays or creative videos that reflect its meaning in today’s world.
