2025 Virtual POWER Act Webinar for District Courts in the Ninth Circuit – September 16, 2025 @ 3:00 pm

Tuesday, July 22, 2025

The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington is proud to partner with courts across the Ninth Circuit to host the 2025 POWER Act presentation on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. PT.

The Pro Bono Work to Empower and Represent (POWER) Act promotes efforts across the country to empower survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking through pro bono legal services. This year’s virtual webinar will highlight the disproportionate rates of violence faced by American Indian and Alaska Native women and explore the unique legal and cultural issues at the intersection of tribal and state justice systems.

The program will feature a distinguished panel of speakers:

  • Chief Justice Meredith Drent – Osage Nation Supreme Court & Chief Judge, Tulalip Tribal Court
  • Bree R. Black Horse – Assistant U.S. Attorney, Eastern District of Washington
  • Keely Linton – Executive Director, Strong Hearted Native Women’s Coalition, Inc.

All members of the legal community and the public are welcome to attend. This is a valuable opportunity to support survivors of domestic violence and learn about providing pro bono legal services in collaboration with tribal and local service providers.
