Electronic Evidence Display in the Courtrooms

The Eastern District of Washington has electronic evidence display systems in all courtrooms in Spokane, Yakima, and Richland. While the functions of the equipment are the same, some of the equipment may differ between the courtrooms. This is an overview of what is available.

We highly recommend you familiarize yourself with the equipment before you use it. This is especially true if you want to connect your laptop computer.

Podium Technology - Court podium equipped with a document camera, touch panel, and connections for a laptop.

The attorney podiums have a touch screen monitor, connections for a laptop computer, and an object/document camera.

Witness Technology - Witness stand with touchscreen monitor for marking up evidence and a microphone.

The witness can "mark" on documents and objects displayed on the touch screen monitor.

Jury Technology - Jury box equipped with chairs and monitors to view evidence.

The jury boxes have monitors permitting jurors to view the evidence being presented.

Counsel Technology - Monitors on top of a table with a microphone

The attorney tables have monitors permitting attorneys to view the evidence being presented. Most attorney tables also have laptop computer connections to allow presentation of evidence from the table instead of the podium.
