All attorneys seeking admission must meet all of the requirements of LCivR 83.2. Petitions & Payment Must Be Submitted Online.
You must be a member of the Washington State Bar Association in order to petition for admission in the Eastern District of Washington. Your Petition for Admission requires Certificates of Recommendation from two members of the bar of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington. If you do not know two recommending attorneys who are currently admitted to our court, please use the Petition for Admission - Form A. You still need two recommending attorneys, but they can be a member of any bar association.

Your admission to the Bar of this Court will not be effective until we have received your completed Petition for Admission and payment, and we have reviewed your Petition to ensure you are qualified for admission. Once your eligibility has been confirmed, you will receive further instructions. A Certificate of Admission will be provided to you once you have been admitted to the Bar of this Court. There is no application form for pro hac vice admission. The application is submitted in the form of a motion. See Local Rule 83.2(c). There is a filing fee for an Application to Proceed Pro Hac Vice, which can be found on our fee schedule. The fee is per attorney, per case. When you e-file your Motion to Proceed Pro Hac Vice, you will be prompted to pay online with a credit card or by Bank Account Debit-ACH.
Attorneys already admitted to the Bar of this Court, but not yet registered for E-filing, United States Department of Justice attorneys, and Social Security Administration attorneys outside the Eastern District of Washington submit an E-Filing Request through PACER.
