Electronic filing of new civil cases by attorneys is effective March 1, 2014. Attorneys must register for CM/ECF. Self represented parties may not open civil cases electronically. All documents must be converted to PDF. Please note that miscellaneous cases cannot be filed electronically at this time.

To view these files in Internet Explorer 7 or 8, please save the file on your computer. When saving, change the file's extension from ".zip" to ".ppsx". You'll then be able to open the file normally.
Training is held at the Thomas S. Foley U.S. Courthouse, 920 West Riverside, Spokane, Washington. Please check in for training with the Clerk's Office, Room 840.

Training is held Wednesday afternoons at the William O. Douglas Courthouse, 25 South Third, Yakima, Washington. Please check in for training with the Clerk's Office, Room 201.

Training is held Thursday afternoons at the Richland U.S. Courthouse and Federal Building, 825 Jadwin Avenue, Richland, Washington. Please check in for training with the Clerk's Office, Room 174.

Classes are 2 hours long. Please bring a picture ID for entrance into the building. Written training materials will be provided. Two CLE credits have been granted for attendance at this class.
You may familiarize yourself with electronic filing by accessing the training database at https://ecf-train.waed.uscourts.gov.

Password for Database: The password for each login is Fu11m00n!
Criminal case numbers to use for Database: 2:01-cr-234, 1:01-cr-234, 2:10-cr-6012, 2:10-cr-7012, and/or 2:10-cr-8012.
Civil case numbers to use for Database: 2:04-cv-1234, 2:10-cv-1234, 2:10-cv-2345, and/or 2:10-cv-3456.
If you would like to practice opening a new civil case online, use one of the logins, passwords, and the test credit card numbers provided below.

Note: We delete and refresh the training database periodically. If you notice that your filing(s) have disappeared it means the database has been reset.
Notice to software vendors: If you want to test your software's interface with this court's CM/ECF system you must get written permission from the Court Unit Executive.
